Traveling to Koh Tao from Bangkok
 
We have just relocated to a new Buddha View office here in Bangkok ...
they are still working on the guesthouse where we are located and there is no sign on the building
yet.

As you can see from the location map just look for the new yellow hotel
building on the corner of the tourist walkway and Soi Rambuttri ... we are
located just inside the lobby area and have a sign above our office which
reads 'BUDDHA VIEW DIVE RESORT KOH TAO'.

 Flying to Koh Tao

The nearest airports to Koh Tao are Koh Samui, Suratthani and Chumporn. From these destinations you can transfer to a number of boats. Below are links to all the domestic and international airlines in Thailand:

Getting to Koh Tao from Bangkok by Bus or Train

1- VIP bus and Lomprayah catamaran
Departs 6am Arrives 2.30pm
Price 850Baht

2- VIP bus and Lomprayah catamaran
Departs 8pm Arrives 8.30am
Price 700Baht

3- VIP bus and Seatran ferry
Deps 8pm Arrives 9.30am
Price 700Baht

4-  Sleeper train and catamaran (3 hour wait at the port) Departs 7.30pm Arrives 8.30am
Price 1040Baht/1090Baht (upper/lower bed 2nd class with fan)

Getting from Koh Samui to Koh Tao:

There are a number of boats that leave each day for Koh Tao. Both Lomprayah and Seatran run express services. The boats leave at 8.00am, midday and 1.00pm. The journey from Koh Samui to Koh Tao is 2 hours. Songserm have a slower boat from Koh Samui to Koh Tao.


 

Getting from Chumporn to Koh Tao:

  Again there are a number of boats that leave each day for Koh Tao. Both Lomprayah and Seatran run express services. The boats leave at 7.30am and 1.00pm. The journey from Chumporn to Koh Tao is also 2 hours. Songserm have a slower boat from Chumporn to Koh Tao. Night boats leave each night from Chumporn to Koh Tao between 9.00pm and 11.00pm. It is a 5-6 hour trip. Bringing a car or motorbike to Koh Tao is best with these night boats. 


   

Getting from Koh Phangan to Koh Tao

Again there are a number of boats that leave each day for Koh Tao. Both Lomprayah and Seatran run express services. The boats leave at 9.00am and 1.00pm. The journey from Koh Phangan to Koh Tao is 1 /2 hours. Songserm have a slower boat from Koh Phangan to Koh Tao.


   

Getting from Phuket to Koh Tao

Travelling from Phuket to Koh Tao you can either fly to Koh Samui and then transfer to boats from the airport or travel by bus to either Chumporn, Koh samui or Suratthani. Boat transfers are shorter and better from both Koh Samui and Chumporn


   

Getting from Suratthani to Koh Tao

Suratthani has a night boat leaving at 11.00pm nightly for Koh Tao. It is a 6-7 hour trip. You can also travel from 8.00am in the morning with Songserm and reach Koh Tao around 3.00pm.


   

Getting from Khao Lak to Koh Tao

Best to travel to Chumporn or Suratthani / Koh Samui where there are regular boat transfers to Koh Tao.


   

Getting from Khao Sok to Koh Tao

Best to travel to Chumporn or Suratthani / Koh Samui where there are regular boat transfers to Koh Tao.


   

Getting from Penang to Koh Tao

From Penang you can take a train to Chumporn or bus.  Flights are also available to Koh Samui.  From these destinations you can transfer to express or night boats to Koh Tao.


   

Getting from Kuala Lumpur to Koh Tao

From Kuala Lumpur you can take a bus to Chumporn.  Alternatively, you can take a bus to Haad Yai and transfer to train to Chumporn. Flights are also available to Koh Samui.  From these destinations you can transfer to express or night boats to Koh Tao.


   

Getting from Singapore to Koh Tao

From Singapore you can take a train to Chumporn or bus.  Flights are also available to Koh Samui.  From these destinations you can transfer to express or night boats to Koh Tao.
